Chivu injury blow for Inter

Internazionale expect to be without Christian Chivu for up to four weeks after the Romania defender suffered knee ligament damage.

Chivu limped out of Saturday's 3-2 Serie A victory over Reggina and scans have revealed ligament damage.

However, the former AS Roma defender will not require surgery and is likely to miss three to four games.

"The Romanian defender has injured the internal collateral ligament in his left knee," confirmed a club statement.

"He will undergo conservative therapy instead of surgery and will begin a rehabilitation programme in the coming days."
