Balotelli may have Inter future

Internazionale supremo Massimo Moratti has suggested controversial striker Mario Balotelli could still have a future at the club despite his recent indiscretions.

The forward reacted angrily at the end of Inter's 3-1 Champions League semi-final first leg win over Barcelona after the fans barracked him when he came off the bench for the final 20 minutes.

At the end of the game, he threw his shirt on the ground and stormed up the tunnel as his team-mates celebrated their victory, a move which infuriated players and officials alike.

However, Moratti has admitted although it could be difficult to salvage the situation, he has not ruled out a resolution being reached.

He said: "It is difficult to patch things up now. It's not impossible, but he will have to pay for something.

"It's like he committed a public suicide. His gesture was too sensational.

"But my desire is to continue with him, because he has talent and the character to become a great player - he only need to overcome certain obstacles.

"I am not underestimating this problem, because if he acts like that, there is a problem."
