Stankovic aiming for full points quota

Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic has set his team an unattainable target before the Christmas break: 33 points.

Inter only have seven league matches -- meaning 21 points -- and another two Champions League games -- which would add a further six points -- before the Italian league shuts down for winter.

But although Stankovic's maths may not be very good, his sentiment is what counts as the Milan giants look to bounce back from a disastrous start to the season.

They have lost five and won just two of their nine scudetto matches so far leaving them one place and one point off the relegation zone.

In fact they have accrued more victories and more points in their four Champions League games -- three and nine respectively -- than in more than twice as many league matches.

"We can't hide from our league position but we can change it," said Stankovic.

"A year ago we won the Club World Cup but now we're in a position not worthy of Inter.

"We'll go forwards. We've improved, also from a physical perspective and what we can promise is that we'll give our utmost to win many points.

"There are 33 (sic. 21) available until the end of the year and I hope we get them all."
