World Cup aim for Kilbane

Kevin Kilbane has the perfect incentive to try to sustain Hull's momentum over the next month - a place at the World Cup. Kilbane has rejoined his club-mates at the end of a momentous week in which he won his 100th international cap and the Republic of Ireland secured a place in next month's World Cup qualifying play-offs. The 32-year-old utility man's immediate priority is to help lift Hull away from the bottom of the Premier League during a month of crucial fixtures, starting with Monday's trip to Fulham. But spurring him on - as Hull look to build on their morale-boosting defeat of Wigan a fortnight ago - will be the prospect of claiming a place at next summer's South African showpiece. Kilbane said: "It's been a big two weeks. We've had two massive games and now we have secured the play-off spot we are looking towards that. But now we've come back here and we'll try to get fully focused on the Premier League and Fulham on Monday. "You can't get too far ahead of yourselves, there is a lot of football to be played at club level first. That is what I and the other international lads, certainly the Irish lads, will be fully focused on for the coming weeks."
