Windass given Brown backing

Hull City boss Phil Brown has told veteran forward Dean Windass that he has a major part to play in the Tigers' first season in the top-flight of English football.
The 39-year-old was an unused substitute for the 2-1 win at home to Fulham last weekend, but Brown is still ready to utilise Windass' vast experience.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "On Saturday, the decision was based on who was tiring and who might bring us pace.
"That doesn't mean to say that there'll never be a place for Dean Windass to start, that's for sure. He brings a lot of experience to this squad.
"He's keen to get his first start, like a lot of players and hopefully that will come sooner rather than later.
"There's no room for sentiment in football. I've been in situations where I've looked at one or two decisions by my superiors and thought there was a little bit of sympathy attached to them.
"But you always get your comeuppance with a sentimental vote.
"You've got to make decisions based purely on fact, on experience and on a lot of things where individuals are concerned.
"I listen to what my backroom staff have to say and then make a decision myself."
