Windass applies for Grimsby job

Former Hull striker Dean Windass has applied for the vacant manager's job at Grimsby Town.The 40-year-old retired as a player on Monday after being sacked as player-coach at Darlington in September. "The fact I've just retired as a player was purely coincidental, but this is too good an opportunity for me to let it pass by," said Windass.
