Turner commits to Tigers
06 Feb 2009 - 15:51:56
Michael Turner has committed his long-term future to Hull City by penning a new deal with the Tigers that will keep him at the KC Stadium until the end of the 2012-13 campaign.
The contract takes the place of Turner's previous agreement which was set to expire in June 2011.
The news ends speculation about the 25-year-old's future. He had been linked with several clubs after making a successful transition to Premier League life this season.
Manager Phil Brown is delighted with the news, telling the Hull Daily Mail: "He's agreed a two-year extension which keeps him with the club until 2013 and that's a massive step forward for us.
"It's a massive positive for Hull City - players like Michael are the future of the club."
Former Brentford defender Turner has made 126 first-team appearances for City since joining the club in the summer of 2006.
