Tigers weigh up Ricketts offer
23 Jul 2009 - 08:51:30
Hull City manager Phil Brown has confirmed that his club have received an official offer from another Premier League club for wing-back Sam Ricketts.
The 27-year-old Wales international is a reported target for Portsmouth and Brown admits that his club face a tricky decision.
He told BBC Radio Humberside: "We're assessing the bid on it merits in a professional manner.
"Sam has another year left on his contract and if the lad wants to stay, he has to show it in the opening games of the season.
"It's a balancing act and he's getting on with pre-season in a professional manner.
"We've had one firm offer and another club showing an interest."
Ricketts joined the Tigers in August 2006 from Swansea City and has made 129 appearances in all competitions for the Humberside club.
