Hull City's fresh bid to land Dean Windass from Bradford City looks set to drag on after Bantams chairman Julian Rhodes vowed to take his time.
Tigers chairman Adam Pearson met with his Bradford counterpart earlier in the week to thrash out a deal for the veteran striker, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the KC Stadium.
But, despite upping their offer for Windass and agreeing personal terms with the 38-year-old marksman, the West Yorkshire club want more time to consider their options.
"They faxed over a new offer and I met with Adam," admitted Rhodes.
"We're getting closer but these things are never done until every detail is agreed.
"We're not far off but now we're just spending some time considering what's on offer."
