Hull City are hopeful of sealing the loan capture of Middlesbrough defender Andrew Davies.
Tigers boss Phil Brown has held talks with the Premier League club over signing the 22-year-old on a short-term basis.
Davies has previously been loaned out to fellow Championship sides QPR and Derby County in recent seasons.
"We've spoken at length with (Boro chief executive) Keith Lamb and (manager) Gareth Southgate, and we're awaiting a response from them," said Brown.
"We've done our business to the best of our ability and we're just awaiting an answer from Middlesbrough."
