Tigers suffer Garcia setback
30 Jul 2009 - 10:27:06
Hull City's Australian forward Richard Garcia has been ruled out of action for around three months due to a knee ligament injury.
The 27-year-old was injured during pre-season training with the Tigers and will miss the opening weeks of the new Premier League season as a result.
Boss Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "Unfortunately it's bad news and Richard could be out for up to three months.
"It was an innocuous training ground accident that sometimes happens in football, but fingers crossed Craig Fagan will be fit for the Chelsea game.
"As it stands, Richard will be looking at a fairly lengthy lay-off.
"But he's had long-term injuries in the past and I know he's strong enough to come back."
Garcia has been with the Tigers for two seasons, scoring eight goals in 71 appearances for City.
