Hull City defender Danny Coles has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a setback in his bid to recover from a medial knee ligament injury.
The 24-year-old former Bristol City star sustained the injury in last September's 1-0 home defeat to Luton Town but has been told he requires more surgery before he can restart his recuperation.
"We all feel for Danny at the minute because he's worked incredibly hard," Tigers boss Peter Taylor told the club's official website.
"He's been very unlucky because we were hopeful the ligament would heal but in the end it didn't.
"That's the chance we took and it means Danny has been put back three or four months. He should be fit for August but, of course, we'd been hoping that he'd be back before the end of this season."
