Hull City manager Phil Brown has appointed experienced former Tigers boss Brian Horton as his number two at the KC Stadium.
Brown, who agreed a 12-month rolling contract with the club earlier in the week, has turned to Horton who has been out of football since leaving Macclesfield Town in October.
Horton was at the helm of the Tigers between 1984-88 before moving on to manage Oxford United, Manchester City, Huddersfield Town, Brighton and Port Vale.
"I hope it's an appointment that does create a lot of interest amongst Hull City fans," Brown told the club's official website.
"He was successful during his previous time at the club and I'm sure that will be key next season.
"I'm bringing a winner on board and that is important."
