Tigers keen to land Pizarro
11 Aug 2008 - 11:48:56
Hull City boss Phil Brown has confirmed that he has enquired about the availability of Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro.
The Tigers are desperate to boost their strikeforce after failing to land Kevin Davies, Marlon King and Fraizer Campbell this summer.
Manchester United youngster Campbell's goals were key to City's promotion last term, but he came on as a late substitute for Sir Alex Ferguson's side in Sunday's Community Shield against Portsmouth.
Brown told the Hull Daily Mail: "We've made contact with Chelsea with regards to Claudio.
"It's a very expensive option, but again, it would be one if we got the option to speak to the lad or the opportunity to speak to the lad, then who knows?
"But as far as we are concerned we have made contact with Chelsea and that's where it lies at the moment."
Peru international Pizarro has made only ten starts for Chelsea following his arrival at Stamford Bridge from Bayern Munich last summer.
