Hull City have finally completed the signing of Dean Windass after agreeing to pay Bradford City £150,000 to land the veteran striker.
The 38-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at the KC Stadium and his eight goals in 18 appearances helped the Tigers stave off the threat of relegation from the Championship.
Windass was expected to move to Hull last month, but Bradford rejected an initial bid and were reportedly holding out for around double the eventual fee the two clubs have settled on.
"I'm delighted to finally get things signed and sealed because it's been a long summer," Windass told the club's official website after agreeing a two-year contract.
"There were a couple of times when I thought things might not go through.
"There was concern about the transfer fee. The chairman did a deal with (Bradford chairman) Julian Rhodes, then it was off and then back on again.
"There was no doubt that I wanted to come back. I've always said I wanted to finish my career here and now I've got the opportunity to do that."
