Tigers dismiss Turner offer

Hull City manager Phil Brown has confirmed that his club have now fielded a verbal offer for central defender Michael Turner.

The 25-year-old is reported to be attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, but Brown is adamant that a deal will only be done for a major fee.

He told the Hull Daily Mail: "We've had a verbal offer from a club in the Premier League, but there's been no firm offer through communications at boardroom level.

"It was nowhere near our expectations.

"I'm still adamant that it would take a big offer to prise Michael away, no matter who the club is.

"We've got a prized asset there and I will guarantee that no player will leave the club on the cheap."
