Hull City have confirmed they have tabled a bid to sign striker Marlon King from Wigan Athletic.
The Tigers are believed to have offered £3million for the 28-year-old striker, who only joined the Latics in a £5million deal from Watford in January.
The Jamaica international found the net just once in 15 appearances for Steve Bruce's side last season and finished the campaign on the substitute's bench.
Championship side Derby County have also been linked with a move for the former Gillingham and Nottingham Forest frontman.
However, the Tigers are believed to be front-runners to complete the deal, due to their top-flight status.
"We are talking to Steve Bruce and my chairman is talking to their chairman about the possibilities of Marlon King coming to the club," manager Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"There's a long way to go but there's a bid on the table."
