Tigers begin Duffen court action

Hull City have revealed they have started legal proceedings against former chairman Paul Duffen.

Duffen left the KC Stadium in October when former chairman Adam Pearson returned to office.

The Tigers have refused to elaborate on the nature of the proceedings.

However, a short statement read: "Hull City Football Club has now issued legal proceedings against Paul Duffen in the High Court.

"This action has been taken to protect the commercial best interests of the football club against the actions undertaken by Paul Duffen while in office at Hull City."

Duffen was at the helm of the Tigers when they won promotion to the Premier League in 2008.

However, last month Pearson admitted he was calling in auditors to assess the state of the club's finances.
