Tigers beat deadline for Sonko

Hull City have raided Stoke City for the second time this summer with the season-long loan signing of Ibrahima Sonko.

The defender joins Seyi Olofinjana at the KC Stadium, who also moved to East Yorkshire this summer.

Sonko is a Senegal international and is touted as a potential replacement for Michael Turner, who has departed for Sunderland.

After making a name for himself in France with Grenoble, Sonko worked his way up from the lower leagues with Brentford and Reading before arriving at the Britannia Stadium last summer.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis used Sonko as a bit-part player and has allowed him to depart to their Premier League rivals after he made just 14 appearances for the Potters.
