Tearful Bullard injured again
06 Dec 2009 - 10:21:37
Unfortunate Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard could be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines after limping out of the 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa with another knee injury.
The former Fulham star only returned in October after being out of action for nine months and had been a vital part of the Tigers' recent revival.
However, he left the pitch in tears after only 19 minutes following a clash with James Milner which left him in agony.
Assistant boss Brian Horton confirmed after the match that the injury was to Bullard's left knee and not the one that caused him to miss so much of this year.
"It's not the same leg," Horton said. "It's too early to say the extent of the injury, but it's something you don't want to see.
"He's just come back and he's playing brilliantly and just fell awkwardly. Hopefully it will settle down and then we can scan it, probably on Monday.
"We're obviously disappointed because he's been a big influence for us.
"We never got out of the traps today.
"They caught us cold really and it was disappointing that we couldn't perform to the level we've had during our recent spell."
