Hull City boss Peter Taylor rapped goalkeeper Boaz Myhill after the 3-2 defeat at Leicester City.
Myhill has been one of the Tigers' star performers this season, but was beaten by a shot from the halfway line by Joey Gudjonsson as the visitors lost out at the Walkers Stadium.
Taylor said: "He is a great goalkeeper, but there is no way he should be as far out as that.
"Call me old-fashioned, but goalkeepers have got to stop the ball going into the net.
"There is a possibility someone can do that, it's happened before and it will happen again. The golden rule is to stop it and to worry about other things after that.
"He has been superb for us, but was trying to read things too early and was punished."
