Hull City manager Peter Taylor has revealed that he has no problems with Stuart Green returning to the club.
The former Newcastle United midfielder has been on loan at Carlisle for the last two months and the Cumbrians were hoping to clinch a permanent deal for the player.
However, with Carlisle facing an uphill battle to avoid relegation to the Nationwide Conference, Green may be forced to return to the Tigers.
"We thought he made a wrong decision in wanting to go to Carlisle," said Taylor.
"Whether it was his mind that was made up or somebody pushed him to go there, I don't know.
"But if Stuart comes back to us, we know he's a good player and it's up to him to prove it if he decides to stay at Hull.
"Carlisle might come up with the money and Stuart might sign. But if he doesn't he will be treated the same as everybody."
