Hull City boss Peter Taylor has confirmed that he has completed the signing of Scunthorpe left-back Andy Dawson.
It is believed that the 24-year-old former Nottingham Forest trainee has signed a three-year contract with the Tigers although he will not officially join the club until the beginning of July.
"I'm delighted we've sorted things out with Andy because he's a player I have been interested in for some time now," Taylor told the Hull Daily Mail.
"We have agreed a deal in principle although nothing will be finalised until July 1. People will probably be asking why I've signed another left-back but I believe we've got the best in the division.
"We do have other players in that position. I've sat down with Andy Holt and Shaun Smith and told them exactly what the score is.
"I said to them that they won't be in my side. They are under contract and if they want to stay and fight for a place then fine.
"At the same time, though, I have told them I will do everything I can to help them find a new club."
