Sonko fits the bill for Brown
Hull boss Phil Brown is confident new loan recruit Ibrahima Sonko is the right man to replace player of the year Michael Turner. Sonko arrived on a season-long loan from Stoke on transfer deadline day and became the Tigers' seventh signing of the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old Senegal international has big shoes to fill after Turner joined Premier League rivals Sunderland. But Brown believes Sonko can fill the void and told the Hull Daily Mail: "We were trying to look for quality to replace Michael and I think we've found it. "It's a year-long loan with a view to a permanent so he could be hungry to prove a point to Stoke and to Tony Pulis to win a contract here. "He's a player who's been on our radar for a number of years. I've sought a number of references for him and he's got a good strong character that I'm sure will help us."
