Pride not enough for Tigers

Hull City manager Phil Brown had mixed emotions after seeing his side lose 4-3 to Manchester United at Old Trafford despite a spirited late fightback.
The Tigers seemed set for a heavy defeat when they trailed 4-1 just before the hour mark, but goals from Bernard Mendy and Geovanni put the jitters up the home side before they held on for the victory.
Afterwards, Brown commented: "We can take a lot of pride from the game but nothing else. That is disappointing when you consider we scored three times.
"I was not happy at half-time, but we got in their faces a lot more in the second half and really battled hard. It was a feisty second half and I liked that.
"I was disappointed with the players in the first half because we are capable of doing better.
"In some ways, I have more belief in this team than they have in themselves.
"But I feel we have proved we are capable of competing at this level. Hopefully it continues for a long time yet."
