Pearson buoyed by Tigers spirit
Hull manager Nigel Pearson believes his side are continuing to make good progress following the point secured at Ipswich. The Tigers remain seven points adrift of the play-offs after substitute Jay Simpson's late equaliser at Portman Road, while Pearson's side have lost only one of their last 17 league games, stretching their unbeaten run to eight matches.Pearson said: "The players showed real spirit on Saturday. It was another hard-earned point, but in terms of the psychological affect on the players, I think it's an important one as well."Draws aren't always what you're looking for, but I'd rather take a point than none."I'd be greedy if I said we should have won the game, but I felt that once we'd equalised we looked very dangerous."The players believed they could win it and on another day maybe we could have."
