Pearson blasts Green

Hull City chairman Adam Pearson has blasted midfielder Stuart Green for the manner of his departure from the KC Stadium.

The 21-year-old joined the Tigers from Newcastle in December but fell out with manager Peter Taylor after going to watch Carlisle United when he had been dropped from the team to face Lincoln.

Pearson and Taylor subsequently spoke with Green and decided that it was best if he left Hull for his hometown club Carlisle.

The chairman told the club's official website: "Stuart is contracted to Hull City and was therefore required to be at our game as all first-team squad members are.

"It showed a lack of respect for this football club after so recently being awarded a three-and-a-half-year contract and having been looked after particularly well by myself, Peter Taylor and the club in general.

"I personally, along with Peter Taylor, have subsequently asked Stuart Green where he would really like to play his football. His response was that he would be interested in talking to Carlisle as it is his hometown club.

"With this in mind, both Peter and I believed that it was in the best interests of Hull City if Stuart spoke formally to Carlisle.

"Subsequently, he will now initially go to Carlisle on loan for a non-refundable loan fee of £30,000 pending a permanent transfer."
