Pearson backs Solano to shine
05 Oct 2010 - 10:55:23
Hull City manager Nigel Pearson has backed Nolberto Solano to win over the fans despite struggling in his early days at the KC Stadium.
The 35-year-old Peruvian has started four matches for the Tigers after signing for the club in the summer but has not featured in the first team since August.
Pearson told the Hull Daily Mail: "He'll have been a little bit frustrated with how the season has started for him, but hopefully people will see that he's a very valuable member of our squad.
"Even though he's in the latter years of his career, he's still got a significant part to play on and off the field for us. He brings a lot of experience and, certainly, he's an excellent passer of the ball.
"I always like to have players like him available for us because his knowledge for the game will still be very important for us this season. I saw that at Leicester last season and I'm sure everyone here will see it as well."
