Parkin boosts Tigers
22 Nov 2006 - 07:29:56
Hull City have been boosted by the news that striker Jon Parkin could be back in action in six weeks after undergoing ankle surgery.
The 24-year-old had been expected to be sidelined for three months, but has been given good news after keyhole surgery.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "The specialists have said six weeks which is great news for me.
"That will take me to the start of January, but hopefully if I can push on between now and then, then I can play some part over Christmas or even earlier.
"The fact it's only going to be six weeks is a massive boost. I had keyhole surgery and they flushed out all the scar tissue from the ankle.
"They've had a bit of a clearout and hopefully I can get back to training as soon as possible."
