New Tigers deal for Turner

Hull City defender Michael Turner is on the verge of penning a new three-year deal with the promotion-chasing Tigers.

The 24-year-old former Brentford player will be contracted to the Championship side until the end of the 2010-11 campaign, and City boss Phil Brown is delighted with the news.

He said: "Michael's verbally agreed a new three-year deal. He'll put pen to paper officially on Monday or Tuesday next week, but we've shaken hands on it.

"It's a good sign that this football club is heading in the right direction."

Turner has made 94 appearances for the club in his two seasons at the KC Stadium.
