Midfielder Marney joins Clarets

Hull City midfielder Dean Marney has left the KC Stadium to join fellow relegated outfit Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Turf Moor, having spent the last four seasons with the Tigers, scoring nine goals in 138 appearances.

Clarets boss Brian Laws told his club's official website: "It's a good way to start and I'm delighted we've got Dean.

"Midfield is an area we wanted to strengthen and for a young age he has got a lot of experience.

"He has tasted promotion with Hull and played for two years in the Premier League, so he knows what's required.

"He is a box-to-box player who is full of energy and his link play with the midfield and forwards is exceptional.

"His pedigree, coming from Tottenham, shows that he can play and he will be a great addition to the squad."
