Hull City manager Peter Taylor does not hold a grudge against Stuart Green despite the pair's high profile falling out last season.
The former Newcastle United midfielder had a disagreement with Taylor shortly after signing a permanent deal with the Tigers and announced that he wanted to sign for third division rivals Carlisle United.
But Green's spell on-loan at Brunton Park didn't work out and he is now back in pre-season training on Humberside, much to Taylor's delight.
The former England boss told the Hull Daily Mail: "Stuart just wants to put last season behind him and I've told him that as far as I'm concerned it's all in the past.
"He's had no problems settling in again but then I never thought there would be any problems. He's happy to be back here and he accepts he made a mistake last season.
"However, he knows it's important now that he concentrates 100 per cent on his football and does not allow himself to be distracted by any off-the-field events.
"If he does that, I think he will be a big help to us. He showed last season that he's got tremendous talent but he knows he's got to work very hard, especially when things might not be going his way."
