    Harewood keen to join Tigers

    22 Jul 2009 - 08:24:11

Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood would welcome the chance to join Hull City, according to his agent.

The Tigers, who have been linked with a host of forwards this summer, are on the verge of snapping up Fulham's Bobby Zamora, but enquired about Harewood's availability in May.

The former West Ham star's agent, Phil Sproson, told the Hull Daily Mail: "Marlon would certainly jump at the chance to join Hull City and the club knows that.

"Hull City know where we are and know Marlon's situation. I've spoken to Phil Brown recently and he said the situation was that Hull were looking at a couple of players and were assessing their options.

"Marlon and Bobby played together at West Ham, they know each other very well and are friends, so he'd love to play alongside him again."

The 29-year-old's career has stagnated at Villa Park where he has spent most of the last two seasons on the substitute's bench.

He has started only nine matches for Villa in that time and made 31 more appearances from the bench.
