    Geovanni ends Tigers spell

    05 Jul 2010 - 14:02:22

Hull City have parted company with Geovanni as they continue their preparations for life in the Championship.

The 30-year-old Brazilian joined the Tigers from Manchester City two years ago and went on to score 13 goals in 65 appearances for the club, including their first ever goal in the Premier League - against Fulham in August 2008.

It is understood that Geovanni is set to sign for a Turkish side after agreeing to bring his £30,000-a-week KC Stadium contract to an end.

A statement from the club read: "We would like to thank Geovanni for the memorable moments he provided during his two years in East Yorkshire and wish him well for the future."

Meanwhile, new boss Nigel Pearson is set to make the former Reading and Sheffield United midfielder James Harper his first signing.

Harper is a free agent after his Bramall Lane contract expired at the end of last week and has also been linked with a switch to Crystal Palace, although Eagles boss George Burley recently said: "We made James an offer but it looks as though he's going to Hull."
