    Fagan suffers broken leg woe

    15 Sep 2008 - 14:40:09

Hull City have confirmed that Craig Fagan sustained a broken leg in the 2-1 win at Newcastle United that could keep him on the sidelines for up to three months.

The 25-year-old former Derby County and Colchester United forward picked up the injury when he was scythed down by Danny Guthrie in stoppage time, a tackle that led to the Newcastle player being dismissed.

Fagan, who left the ground on crutches, had an X-ray on Monday morning that confirmed he had suffered a fracture to his right tibia.

Meanwhile, the Tigers' two-goal hero at St James' Park, Marlon King, is happy to be proving his doubters wrong.

The Jamaica international's Premier League career appeared to be over when he failed to impress at Wigan Athletic in the second half of last season, finding the net only once in 15 appearances for the Latics.

King is pleased to have been given the chance to shine in English football's top flight during a season-long loan switch to the KC Stadium, telling the Hull Daily Mail: "I've only got to prove myself right that I'm good enough to be here.

"It took me a while to get my first goal for Wigan and people will say it didn't work out for me there.

"I didn't get as many as I'd like last season and I'm sure a few didn't, but when you've got to stay in the Premier League, you do things that are foreign to you like defending.

"I'm not making excuses, but now I'm at Hull and I'm delighted to be here and playing Premier League football regularly."
