Duke commits to Tigers
25 Sep 2007 - 15:10:06
Hull City manager Phil Brown is pleased to have convinced Matt Duke to pen a new long-term deal with the Tigers.
The 30-year-old former Burton Albion shot-stopper has inked a three-year contract with the Championship side and Brown hopes he will continue to push Boaz Myhill for the number one shirt.
"I've got two fantastic goalkeepers at the club," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"There's great competition between them and they're improving one another.
"There's a great calmness to Matt's game that Bo can learn from and that's largely down to his maturity.
"But the new deal for Matt is testimony to the start he made during pre-season and the way he's continued it in the past few months."
Duke has made 11 first-team appearances for City since arriving at the KC Stadium just over three years ago.
