    City complete Kilbane signing

    15 Jan 2009 - 11:33:00

Hull City have wrapped up the signing of Republic of Ireland midfielder Kevin Kilbane from Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at the KC Stadium, having been with the Latics since the summer of 2006.

Kilbane started his career with Preston North End, before heading to West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 1997 for a fee well in excess of £1million.

In late 1999 the winger was on the move again, joining Sunderland and in the summer of 2003 he left Wearside to link up with Everton.

Kilbane signed for Wigan in the summer of 2006 and scored twice in 85 appearances for the Latics.

The versatile left-footer has also won nearly 100 caps for his country.
