Bullard's recovery on track
02 Feb 2010 - 11:57:14
Hull City midfielder Jimmy Bullard has revealed that his recovery from a latest knee injury is progressing well but that he is still around a month away from making his comeback.
Bullard has been sidelined since damaging his medial knee ligament back in December.
The 31-year-old midfielder has made just six appearances since joining the Tigers for a club record fee of £5million 12 months ago.
"It's feeling better," said Bullard. "The last two weeks I've come on leaps and bounds. Two weeks ago if you'd have asked me I'd have been a bit worried, it just felt a bit crappy to be honest.
"But I've been through this before where some weeks you don't feel great and then you get a little bit of a good feeling. I'm at one of those ones now where I'm feeling good again.
"I'm at nine weeks now so I've probably lost a bit of fitness so it should take a game or two in the reserves as well.
"I don't want to come back sluggish, I want to come back and hit the ground running and sharp."
