Bullard nears Hull return

Jimmy Bullard could make his Hull City return against Fulham on Monday night but he is unlikely to start. The Tigers sit second-bottom of the Premier League and are in desperate need of their record £5million signing to improve their fortunes. Bullard damaged his cruciate ligament for the second time in his career just 37 minutes into his Hull debut against West Ham in January and has been out of action ever since. The 30-year-old midfielder has continued to step up his rehabilitation and could be in line to feature against former club Fulham after playing in two reserve outings during the last fortnight. But assistant boss Brian Horton insists the England man will not be rushed back into the side, although he has given the club a lift in his return to training. Big decision "Whether he starts or not we will have to make that decision, it's a big decision, but it's great to see him back," Horton told Sky Sports News. "He's a quality player and he will be a massive plus when he does start a game, but we will just have to monitor today and tomorrow. "We want him back as quickly as we can but he's also been out for a long time and you can't rush it. "It's a long-term picture for Jimmy and for us that we've got to be patient, but we all want him back in there because he does some tremendous things. "He's great for the kids because he is an outstanding footballer."
