Jimmy Bullard could make his latest return to action as a substitute in this weekend's vital Premier League visit to West Ham United.
The former Fulham midfielder has spent the last two months on the sidelines with a knee injury and, even though he is yet to resume full training, such is his importance to the Tigers squad that he may be rushed back to action.
"It's still very early stages of Jimmy's comeback," City boss Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "He's been out on the training ground with the first team and been floating around in training situations.
"It's been non-contact stuff at the minute and yesterday he was the spare man on both sides in a little game. He's feeling his way back in at the minute and the players, more than anyone, are aware of what he's capable of.
"Everyone at this club wants Jimmy Bullard playing as soon as possible but it's still far too early in the week to make a decision over Saturday."
