Brown wants Euro finish

Hull manager Phil Brown still harbours ambitions of bringing European football to the KC Stadium. The Tigers have made a poor start to the Premier League season and take on relegation rivals Portsmouth on Saturday, having only accrued seven points from nine games so far this season. But Brown thinks his side can beat the drop this term and qualify for Europe in the future, despite City's current poor run of form. "My ambitions are still to bring European football here," he said in the Daily Star. "People might say that at this time we're a million miles away but I don't think we are. "We're in the Premier League now and if we stay there for another year, who knows how far away those ambitions might be." Hull's clash with Pompey is already a six-pointer, with both teams languishing in the relegation zone in the league, but Brown has praise for his opposite number Paul Hart. "Paul Hart has faced a difficult job," he added. "He's been under huge pressure and it's not really got too much to do with football. "I don't envy his position, but I've got my own cross to bear."
