Brown vows to stand by King
12 Dec 2008 - 09:15:30
Hull City striker Marlon King will still be in Phil Brown's starting line-up for Saturday's trip to Liverpool despite his recent off-pitch problems.
The 28-year-old, who is on a season-long loan switch from Wigan, was arrested this week for an alleged assault in a London nightclub.
King returned to training on Thursday and Brown insists he will stand by his controversial forward.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "Marlon came to tell me about the situation on Monday and he dealt with it by voluntarily going to Charing Cross police station on Wednesday.
"He's trained very professionally this week and what's happened doesn't have any impact on team selection."
Asked if King would be included in the squad for the trip to Merseyside, Brown added: "Yes."
Meanwhile, injured duo Craig Fagan and Anthony Gardner are expected to return to full training on Monday.
Both players have been sidelined since September - Fagan broke his leg in the Tigers' 2-1 win at Newcastle United while Gardner has been struggling with a thigh injury.
