Brown upset by City collapse
08 Mar 2010 - 08:05:45
Hull City manager Phil Brown admitted that his side had fallen apart at the seams in the second half of their 5-1 thumping at Everton.
The result left the Tigers still deep in trouble in the relegation zone, with just ten games left to try and fashion an escape from the drop.
Brown said after the Goodison Park horror show: "I thought we were competitive in the first half, but in the second we certainly weren't. We left our game in the changing room for whatever reason.
"Everton were good, but we made them look good because we didn't get in the face of the opposition.
"Defensively I have questioned one or two, but we will dust ourselves down and get on with it. We have got ten big games now.
"Goal difference will play a big part this season and that kind of collapse in the second half is not what is required between now and the end of the season.
"There's a concern that a result can dent your confidence, but it's our job to make sure it's not dented sufficiently in time for the Arsenal game on Saturday."
