Brown sets out survival plan
26 Apr 2009 - 11:37:54
Hull City boss Phil Brown has pinpointed his side's forthcoming games against fellow strugglers Stoke City and Bolton Wanderers as vital to their survival hopes.
Speaking after Saturday's 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool in which Caleb Folanwas sent off, Brown admitted the Tigers' poor form is becoming a serious concern.
Hull also have clashes with Aston Villa and Manchester United, but the City boss is ready to prioritise games with his side just three points above the drop zone.
"The disappointing thing from my point of view is that we've kept our best for the best, and we need to keep our best for the teams that are not the best," he said.
"We have got four games to go - two against the best, if you're talking about the top six in England - and two against teams in and around us.
"I think the game plan for four games speaks for itself."
Meanwhile, Brown has pledged to deal with Folan after the striker was sent off for kicking out at Martin Skrtel as the pair chased the ball towards the Liverpool goal in the early stages of the second half.
"I have no excuses for the sending off. I feel it was justified and it will be dealt with in-house," he added.
"That killed us, ten against 11, and Caleb made it a little bit easier for them."
