Brown rules out Kilbane exit

Hull City boss Phil Brown has played down reports suggesting Kevin Kilbane will be heading out of the KC Stadium before the transfer window closes on Monday.

The 32-year-old Republic of Ireland international was reportedly wanted by Celtic, Sheffield United and Ipswich Town, but Brown is not sure where the stories have come from.

The Tigers had been tipped to sell a raft of players this month, but Brown says Kilbane will not be one of them.

He said: "Any bid for Kevin is news to me. Kevin is a great asset to the football club at the moment, he's a great professional.

"A player of his temperament, his experience, and his versatility to play in a number of positions is going to be invaluable to us between now and the end of the season.

"There's nothing new happening with Daniel Cousin but we'll see. The Greek side that Daniel was going to and the Championship side that Daniel was going to go to have both cooled their interests."
