Brown proud of beaten Tigers
14 Mar 2010 - 12:59:29
Hull City manager Phil Brown refused to criticise goalkeeper Boaz Myhill following his last-minute mistake which led to Arsenal's winner in a 2-1 victory at the KC Stadium.
Myhill could only push a Denilson shot from long range straight back out and Nicklas Bendtner pounced to net from the rebound and leave the Tigers devastated by a potentially crucial loss.
However, Brown said: "Boaz Myhill has done a fantastic job at this football club.
"Yes, he'll get judged on the way the ball came off him and George Boateng will get judged on the fact he got a red card.
"But these players can hold their heads up high because of the determination and the pride in the performance they put in.
"I'm very proud of my players. Ten men have harried and chased one of the best footballing teams in the country, if not in Europe, if not in the world.
"If we bring that pride and performance to the table over nine games we will have no problems. But it's up to us to respond to nine cup finals."
