Brown: I'm going nowhere
24 Sep 2009 - 08:05:30
Hull City manager Phil Brown is remaining defiant despite seeing his side dumped out of the Carling Cup following 4-0 thrashing by Everton.
The Tigers were three goals down after half an hour of their third round tie at Goodison Park as their dismal Premier League form continued in the cup.
Brown's future has come under the spotlight following a poor start to the season which has left them down in 19th place in the table.
But despite witnessing another disappointing display on Wednesday night, the Tigers boss insists he is going nowhere.
"Everybody is expecting us to go out of this division because of the second-season syndrome," he said.
"It is about rolling the sleeves up now and fighting even harder.
"Hopefully whatever team I pick on Saturday (at Liverpool) will respond in the right manner.
"Nobody likes being in the bottom three, but we have a job to do that is a long-term plan.
"That long-term plan is six games in. We have got a long way to go."
