Boro swoop for Folan
Skysports.com understands Caleb Folan has agreed a loan move to Middlesbrough with a view to a permanent deal. The Hull City striker has concurred on a three-month loan switch to the Riverside and will put pen-to-paper by the end of the week. Folan started the Tigers' first four Premier League games this season but has fallen down Phil Brown's pecking order since the arrivals of Kamil Ghilas, Jozy Altidore and Jan Vennegor of Hesselink. Brown left the former Wigan front-man out of his squad for Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Sunderland and it would appear he is heading for the KC Stadium exit. A number of Championship clubs were keen to sign Folan but it is Boro boss Gareth Southgate who has landed his man. A busy week for Middlesbrough has also seen them bring in Preston defender Sean St Ledger in a similar deal.
