Hull City will be without Nicky Barmby for around six weeks after the veteran midfielder suffered a knee injury during Saturday's win over Norwich City.
The 33-year-old damaged medial knee ligaments during the first half of the 2-1 victory at the KC Stadium and is now set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
"Nick will be out for between four and six weeks," City manager Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"But he proved a lot of critics wrong last year with regards his recovery from an impact injury.
"People said then after Christmas that he would be out for the season and he got back for the last six games.
"He's a tough character and he'll try his hardest to get back in the team."
