Atkinson hoping to keep his place
Will Atkinson is hoping his goalscoring Premier League debut will be enough to keep him in the Hull side against Liverpool on Sunday. The 21-year-old scored the opener for the Tigers in their 2-2 draw with Wigan having impressed in a loan spell with Rochdale earlier this season. Iain Dowie's team at the DW Stadium was a taste of things to come for relegated Hull, with teenagers Tom Cairney and Mark Cullen also in the starting line-up. Atkinson told the official club website: "It was fantastic to have the chance to play in the Premier League. Unfortunately we're not going to be in this league next year but hopefully I can push on from here and play a lot more games for Hull City next season. "We've got Liverpool to come before that, though, and it would definitely be nice to play at the KC Stadium. We'll see what happens in training this week and hopefully I can get another game under my belt "It would be nice to get a positive result in that one. We came so close to winning at Wigan and it would be nice to get a win in front of our own fans against a great side like Liverpool."
